Ceramic FAQs

Can I wash it in the dishwasher/microwave?

Yep! All our ceramics are made of stoneware, which is highly durable, with low porosity. It’s totally suitable for putting in the dishwasher and microwave. You can even use them in the oven, as long as you preheat the dish with the oven, and don’t set it on a cold counter when you remove it from the oven—sudden extreme temperature changes may cause thermal shock.

Do you take commissions/custom work?

Probably. If you don’t see anything in our ready-made section that will suit you, please reach out using our contact form.

What I want is out of stock. When will you make more?

We produce our wares in small batches, focusing on commissions and one-of-a-kind pieces, in order to reduce the waste that comes with a large inventory. You may see something in our shop portfolio that has already been sold or is a project we documented to showcase a technique. If an item is out of stock, we may not be able to reproduce a piece exactly, But we can work with you to design something similar that will fit your needs.

How long does it take to produce a commissioned piece?

It depends on the size and complexity of the piece, as well as our current workload. We work in a community studio, so commissions can take a while to make it through both firings. When negotiating a price for a commission, we will let you know how long we expect it to take. Then you can decide if you are willing to wait for the good stuff. With a little patience, you can have a piece that will truly last.
